The Soldier Prince is a fine example that shows how deft handling of a story makes the story and characters come alive. The book transports you effortlessly to the beautiful Swiss Alps. Seldom does one get to see such in-depth research on places, events, and families in novels. I felt as if I was there, a disembodied me, watching from above, when the Prince fights the bad guys and saves the lady. Quite adept at twisting the narrative, Aarti has superbly handled the action sequences. A chance encounter with a bunch of gun toting bad guys ensures the lead protagonists get enough time to spend with each other in a fairytale like castle. She has deftly painted an almost life-like picture of the Prince and his smoldering Indian love interest. Aarti treats you to some lip-smacking action and one gets to indulge their senses in her lucid poetry-like writing. It is stuff dreamy romances are made of: a tall, suave, and handsome Prince falling for a righteous and beautiful commoner who saves his life.

The Prince, living as a commoner falls for the oh-so-grounded Sasha and keeps returning to the Deli for his caffeine and of course to soak in more of Sasha’s presence. Sasha falls for the tall and handsome Prince when she sets her eyes on him at the Deli she works to pay her tuition. It is about a Prince (also a fearless soldier) and a waitress (also an aspiring novelist) and their destined meeting. I finished the book in 2 days and here is an honest review. So, I have been waiting to start writing the post on Aarti V Raman’s new book: The Soldier Prince. She very kindly sent me an uncorrected proof for my review. Despite being a night person, I quite like the feeling of being up early, staring at the neem tree swaying in the gentle breeze and the gentle rays of sunlight peeping in from behind the buildings.

I would be lying if I say I don’t like the morning time. My fuzzy brain has been successfully coaxed to wake up with an ample dose of caffeine.
